I am a certified functional nutrition counselor, registered yoga teacher, and an educator by nature. Nutrition and lifestyle modification influence signs, symptoms, and disease states by way of how your specific genes are expressed. This the called epigenetics, which is the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work. Things such as smoking, or infections you develop affect the way your genes express themselves. Unlike genetic changes, epigenetic changes are reversible.

Your genes have the ability to be turned on or off. Disease and dysfunction that come out can be greatly affected by way of nutrition and lifestyle modification.

Every illness is influenced by epigenetics. Nutrition and lifestyle modification can have a huge impact on your state of overall wellness.

  • I can help you make the habit changes and lifestyle choices to lessen that impact. 

  • I can guide you so that all of the controllable health factors are addressed.

  • I can show you how to take charge of your internal and external environments to catapult your health to new levels.

There is so much to sift through when researching your health on your own. I have spent years going “down the rabbit hole” of reading one article after another of conflicting information on my own health specifics. I am able to become your partner in health. To not simply give you a plan to follow, but to work with you to develop sustainable goals and design a framework for you and perhaps others in your household, that can become a new and better way to live your best life.

I will use every opportunity to offer as many teachable moments as possible!

This is the opposite of a one size fits all plan!

How I Will Work With You

Everything we do together will be specific to your personal needs and goals.

 

We will:

  • Look at your nutrition and enable us to see where you are possibly deficient.

  • We will take a deep dive into your life experiences which may be at the root of your present symptoms.

  • Things like family history, injuries, illnesses, lifestyle habits are all clues to uncovering these deficiencies and helping to figure out how to bring you to sufficiency. 

  • We will create your own personal non-negotiables which are critical in order for you to take back your own health and vitality.

  • We address diet - removing inflammatory foods such as gluten and dairy, and ditching sugar.

  • We will find movement that resonates with you.

 

Together, we will create a set of habits that bring you to a place of peace and calm on a daily basis. Your ability to address internal stress is something of utmost importance - movement, proper breathing, a sleep routine, maybe meditation. You may choose to practice any of these stress reducing techniques with me. Finding your oasis is critical to your mind and body functioning at its peak and living the life you deserve.
